Everything from Tokyo to Osaka - Alister Logan

Alister, aged 16, wrote two essays, one in English and the other in Japanese, after he came back from a 10-day trip to Japan early April, 2006.

Last week I returned from my school trip to Japan .
We travelled around a lot, from Tokyo to Hakone, then Kyoto, Hiroshima and finally Osaka.

My favourite place was probably Tokyo just because the city was so great and because we met a friend who lives there and she took us round all the sites.

We did some really interesting things at the other places as well. In Hakone we had a hot spring in the hotel which was amazing, but unfortunately because of the fog we couldnft see Mount Fuji.

In Kyoto we went to Gion and to loads of temples, we even saw two Maiko in the street. In Hiroshima we visited the Peace Park which gave us all something serious to think about, the museum is done really well, we learnt a lot about the war that we donft really learn in school.

In Osaka we went to Den Den Town to buy PSPs and iPods for ridiculously low prices.
Unfortunately with two Japanese students on the trip I wasnft forced to use much Japanese, however I plan to go back and next time will speak more.

Over the entire trip was amazing, I have wanted to go Japan for so long and I was not at all disappointed.

I really canft wait to go again; I am planning to return next Easter, just in time for the Cherry Blossom again!
