Lessons in the real world - 課外授業

私は先月日本語学校の三泊四日で課外授業として京都へ出かけました。
関西の一番すごい町で古い旅館に泊まりました。
旅館で風呂ばに入りたりたたみの上に寝ったりしました。
それも私は着物を着ながらウエイトレスは部屋の中でおいしいおすしを出した。
次は歴史の場所で見物をしました。
お寺と神社と言えば金かく寺と銀かく寺などですよ。
お寺の庭の中でぜんぶ庭を見られました。
料理は伝統的な京料理、おすしやさしみなどでした。
昼ご飯と晩ご飯はおいしかった。
しかし外国人にいるので、朝ご飯で魚食べるのはちょっと悪かったです。
一番楽しかったのは駅はレストランで京都人と一しょに日本語で話していました。

This candidate managed to include a good range of vocabulary and kanji and the essay had interesting content.


For example, words such as "関西" , "三泊四日" or "旅館" clearly suggest that this student is equipped with travel-related terms.
In addition, his experience in a ryokan was realistic.


Unfortunately, some basic grammatical mistakes such as "ながら" and the mix of formal and informal verb endings　 certainly work against his possible good grade.



This essay improved hugely after the student realized that the topic "kagai jyugyo" referred to practising Japanese outside the normal classroom.
