Missing girl
David Beckham gave a televised appeal for the safe return of missing Madeleine McCann today, as the search for the three-year-old girl continued into its eighth day.
"Last Thursday evening, a little girl called Madeleine was taken from a family hotel room in the Algarve, in southern Portugal," Beckham said. "As I am sure you understand, we need to do everything possible to help the police with their inquiries in finding her."
Holding up a poster of the girl, the former Manchester United star said:
gIf you have seen this little girl please could you go to your local authorities or police and give any information that you have. Any genuine information you have. Please, please help us.h
