My World - Alister Logan's first draft for the 2006 Nihongo Cup

Belwo is the first draft Alister wrote in preparation for the Nihongo Cup 2006, the Japan Foundation speech contest for Secondary Schools. This is not edited.


一日 私のせかい を見たいです。

毎ところ 私ははじめるなつです、

オーストラリアへ行ます。

オーストラリア に私はスキューバダイビングを して、毎日私サーフをします。

それから 私はあきに アフリカへ行きます。

サファリを行って、やせいどうぶ つを見ます。

それからふゆにカナダへ行きますから、スキーをします。

毎日 私は山でスキーをしにはやいおきます。

はるに私は花見をしに 日本へ行きます。

私はお寺見にきょとへ行って、ときょ 買物をします。



One day I would like to see the whole of my world.

If I could I would visit every part of it.

I would start in the summer and I would go to Australia.

In Australia I would go scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef, and I would go surfing every day.

Then I would travel to Africa for the autumn. There I would go on safari and see all the wildlife.

Then I would go to Canada in the winter so I could go skiing.

Every day I would get up early to go up to the mountains to ski.

Finally in the spring I would go to Japan to see the cherry blossom.

I would visit Kyoto and all its temples and go shopping in Tokyo.

And in an ideal world I would return home after my year travelling and

it would not have cost me any money at all.
